From Her, King's Are Born


A portrait I took of my wife and her twin sister

This image was styled with Rajasthani Princesses in mind and was also branded to challenge conventional notions of Indian patriarchy. Significantly it was released on 'Rakhri', the day in the Indian calendar that celebrates boys and men within families as the protectors of women. This image challenges that notion.

Using the symbology of the sword and the confident pose of the two subjects, coupled with the camera angled below the subjects eyes helps create a sense of grandeur, predominance and sovereignty.
